The Parthenon is the best known of all Greek temples, located on the Athenian Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
An initiative of Pericles, a top Athenian politician, the Parthenon was built between 447BC to 438 BC and was dedicated to the Ancient Greek goddess Athena.

Built of Pentelic marble from Mount Pentelicus 16km away, this magnificent building of classic Greek architecture is considered a key symbol of Ancient Greece and Athenian Democracy. Measuring 228ft by 101ft in size, the Parthenon was cleverly built with subtle differences in column width and direction of lean to heighten the spiritual feel of the place. We built this 3D reconstruction from archaeological plans and maps of the building, so you can feel what it might have been like to walk its hallowed floors in ancient times.
